Finding the right property agent is important whether you’re selling, buying or renting a property. It can be tempting to go with an estate agent that’s offering the lowest fee or fall for the best sales pitch. But are they the right agent to sell, or rent, your most valuable asset? How to find the right property agent when there are so many out there, can feel mind-boggling.

“You wouldn’t book a holiday with a travel agent who wasn’t qualified or regulated. Or a mortgage broker, or a solicitor. You wouldn’t dream of dealing with those important things in your life unless they were regulated or qualified to do that. And yes, it seems we don’t ask our estate agents – who are dealing with our most valuable asset – ‘are you qualified to do that?‘” Phil Spencer, Founder Move iQ,

Luckily, we can connect you with the people who can make it happen –  we’ve got a qualified local property agent for you.

We’ll help you in finding an estate agent, letting agent or buying agent that is local to you and qualified.

Find a Propertymark regulated property agent

Anyone can set up an estate agency in the UK! You don’t need a license. You’re not required to prove your experience. You don’t need qualifications!

Fortunately, this isn’t your typical agent operation. Most estate agents are passionate about their profession and have lots of relevant experience.

But even better, when it comes to finding an estate agent, there is a professional body for estate and letting agents, Propertymark. Who regulate their members, over and above the minimum requirement.

Finding a local property agent that is a member of Propertymark, means you’re in safe hands. Why? Because Propertymark regulates its members’ activity with a code of conduct and high standards to protect you and your money!

  • If you’re renting look for the ARLA Propertymark logo.
  • If you’re selling or for commercial property) look for the NAEA Propertymark or NAEA Commercial logo.
  • If you are up for an auction look for the NAVA Propertymark logo.
