Why Every Landlord Needs a Will (And What Happens If You Don't)

For many landlords, property represents a significant part of their personal wealth. But without the right legal structure in place, from wills to ownership arrangements, years of investment can be left vulnerable.
In this third episode of our series with Taylor Rose Solicitors, Phil Spencer is joined by legal experts Jacob and Selia to explore how landlords can safeguard their property assets properly and why planning ahead is absolutely essential.
They explain why having a properly drafted will is the single most important thing any landlord can do, how intestacy rules could mean your assets don’t go where you intended, and the importance of working with regulated professionals to ensure your wishes are protected. They also discuss inheritance tax considerations and the value of regular reviews every three to five years or after major life events.
If you’re a landlord, whether experienced or accidental, this episode is essential viewing to help you protect your investment and plan for the future.
