More buyers are looking at new-build homes for their next move, and the demand for brand-new properties is higher than ever. Number of homes built
See how many homes the developer constructed in the last 12 months. During 2020/21, Persimmon was the most productive developer, building 13,575 new-build homes. It was followed closely by Barratt Homes (12,604) and Taylor Wimpey (9,799).

There are many categories at the Housebuilder awards, from sustainability to marketing. Vistry Group won Large Housebuilder of the Year and was praised for showing ‘real intent across the board’. Medium Housebuilder of the Year went to Hill for the second year in a row.
Barratt Developments took home Sustainable Housebuilder of the Year award, with the judges noting it had covered ‘all aspects of the environmental agenda’. Best Regeneration Initiative is another sought-after award – Anderson Group went home with this particular accolade.

In 2019/20, 243,770 houses were built – the highest number since 1987 – with 1.8 million constructed since 2010. Are new builds of good quality?
