Making the Most of a Small Outside Space

Create some discrete storage

Just as storage inside your home is important, you may also need some for your outside space. If you don’t have space for a shed, create a storage solution.

Wooden crates have numerous uses and are perfect if you’re limited on outside space. Turn them on their side to create a seat or a table. They will also double up as a storage unit in which you can safely stow your outdoor cushions when not in use.

If you have space for a hollow bench, this would work well for storage, too. This will allow you to keep all your outdoor accessories dry and out of the way!

Wall-mounted storage, hooks and shelving can also help free up floor space while keeping gardening tools, watering cans and decorative accessories organised and easily accessible.

Try going faux

If you don’t want the hassle of maintaining your outside space, but you want it to be pleasing on the eye, fake it.

Fake flowers can be wound around a balcony railing or placed on a windowsill.

Fake plants can look just as good as real ones, brightening up your outside space without needing to be looked after.
